It was too late to ship out Holly’s lens the night before so our first order of business was to go to the UPS store to pack and ship out Holly’s lens. We had to hurry because it would take some time for the lens to get to the Cannon repair facility in Virginia then they needed to fix it and ship it back to us. I figured it would probably take a couple of weeks and I didn’t want to get stuck in the US without health insurance (which expired on Nov 30) for any longer than necessary.
The drive to the UPS store was short but the cost to ship the lens 2nd day air was not at over $70. Ground shipping generally only took 3 days and was only $20 so we went with that. After that we needed to get gas so we stopped by Costco where we found a new low price of $1.99 a gallon, breaking the $2 price barrier. Love it. Since we were at the Costco we had to get samples too.
I was thinking about trying to go to the nearby Houston Space center but with our habitual late mornings and time going to the UPS store and Costco it was well after lunch before we were ready to go and it would have been another half hour drive to get there so it didn’t seem worth the rush. Instead we went to our usual standby McDonald’s and spent the afternoon there before driving to yet another Cracker Barrel close to the Space Center. For the night.
